Announcing the 8th Oak Ridge Teachers’ Retreat, July 2016

Plans are underway for our eighth biennial retreat for yoga teachers. The Oak Ridge retreat is for anyone already engaged in teaching from a Christian perspective, as well as for teachers interested in exploring the link between yoga and Christianity for you and your students. Retreat participants will meet, practice and share with other teachers of similar interests.

Oak Ridge gatherings are a rejuvenating experience -- spiritually, physically, intellectually, and relationally. This is an ecumenical gathering of Christians who teach yoga, share ideas, and encourage one another in teaching and faith. For many, the energy of the Holy Spirit has been so intensely present at these gatherings that the experience has been like a "little Pentecost”!  Read about previous retreats to decide if this year’s retreat may be of interest to you or someone you know.

In addition to twice-daily yoga and meditation (click to see the daily schedule), we will spend time together before the Lord in morning prayer and night prayer; time with one another in small group workshops and plenary sessions, on walks in the woods and enjoying time to explore the magnificent grounds at Graymoor Spiritual Life Center in Garrison, NY.

Participants are invited to practice karma yoga/selfless service by offering to teach a yoga class, lead a workshop or make a plenary presentation. In this retreat, we are the resource for one another. (For an example, click to see the 2014 program.)

The retreat will be held at The Graymoor Spiritual Center in Garrison, NY, from July 26 until July 31. Please email Sally Grillo at for more information and registration.
